How it works
Post, bid, prove, get paid.
DetailGig connects businesses that have detailing work with the independent detailers who do it. Every job has before/after photo proof and a clear approval step, so both sides know exactly when the work is done and what's owed.
If you're posting work
- 1Post the job
Describe the vehicles, the services you need, the date window and the ZIP. Name a fixed price or take open bids. Only the city and ZIP are public — the exact address is shared with the detailer you hire.
- 2Review bids
Nearby detailers bid with a price, a start date and a note. See their rating, completed-job count and Verified badge (insurance and W-9 on file). Message any bidder from the job.
- 3Award
Accept a bid. The detailer gets the exact address and can start right away — nothing is charged up front.
- 4Approve the work
The detailer uploads before/after photos and marks the job done. Approve it, or open a dispute. If you do nothing, the job auto-approves 72 hours after proof is submitted.
- 5Pay the detailer
Pay the bid amount directly to the detailer — invoice, card, check, whatever you agree on in the job's messages. DetailGig doesn't process the payment and takes no fee during early access.
- 6Rate each other
Both sides leave a rating and short review. Reviews are double-blind: neither is shown until both are in (or 14 days pass).
If you're a detailer
- 1Set up your business
Create your profile: services, service radius, hourly rate and minimum. Upload insurance and a W-9 to earn the Verified badge — posters can filter to verified only.
- 2Find work
Browse open jobs inside your radius, or turn on 'Jobs near me' emails. Each job shows the vehicles, services, window, budget mode and how far it is from you.
- 3Bid
Give a price, a proposed start and a note. Ask questions in the job's message thread. You can withdraw a bid any time before it's accepted.
- 4Do the work
When you're awarded you get the exact address. Mark it started, do the work, upload before/after photos and submit.
- 5Get paid
When the poster approves — or 72 hours pass — they pay you the full bid directly. No platform fee during early access.

Common questions
- Who can use DetailGig?
- Businesses only: detail shops, dealers, fleets and independent detailers. Any business can both post jobs and bid on them — a shop with overflow work one week can pick up work the next.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing during early access. Posting and bidding are free, and the poster pays the detailer the full bid amount directly. Escrow payments with a platform fee (10% of the bid, $2 minimum, taken from the detailer's payout) come later — and any fee is locked at award, so a job already awarded is never touched by a later change.
- How does the detailer get paid?
- Directly by the poster, once the work is approved — invoice, card, check or whatever the two of you agree on in the job's message thread. DetailGig doesn't process the payment right now; Stripe-backed escrow and automatic bank payouts are coming.
- What if something goes wrong?
- Either side can open a dispute on a submitted job. The job pauses, DetailGig support reads the job thread and the proof photos, and resolves it as approved, cancelled, or a reduced amount owed.
- Are detailers employees of DetailGig?
- No. Detailers are independent businesses using the marketplace. DetailGig doesn't set schedules or supervise work.
- Is my address public?
- No. Jobs show city and ZIP so detailers can judge distance. The exact address is revealed only to the detailer you award. Phone numbers and emails aren't shown either — use the in-app messages.
